Use Prizes to Get Expensive Units

Arr pirates!! I've seen a lot of discussion and fights over Prizes, but I want to propose to ye to think of Prizes in a different way. Consider Prizes as an exchange service, just like ye exchange many things in life like giving out a lot of resources for one very expensive thing, similarly fer the Prizes ye can use our dearest Bonnie's Beauties and Marauders, being cheap and easy to train units, to attack targets and get Booty like the one shown below of 8 Juggernauts, which be a very expensive unit taking a long time to train, so this be the same as exchanging Bonnies/Marauders into Juggernauts packaged into a feature called Prizes.

I've also gotten 20-40 Bombardiers and 100+ Cuirassiers which I also show on the picture below this one. And I must say I prefer the rewards of the defensive Prizes over the offensive ones since offensive ones only seem to be giving the offensive units + resources rather than both offensive and defensive units.

So I suggest ye be considering Prizes as an exchange service, albeit one that is not very much in yer favor, that is, the troops ye lose usually cost more than the troops ye gain, but ye must also consider that perhaps ye don't even have the Discoveries and Buildings to train those expensive units and also it takes a long time to train them while this way ye can get them instantly.

Also if ye combine yer Prizing adventures together with the Global Missions then ye be cutting yer losses and maybe even be making a profit since ye get also rewards from the Global Mission on top of the reward from the Prize itself. In the stats I have so far, and I be probably making a separate post on this topic, the average number of Prizes to raid before getting a reward is 8.

Faster Training Speed for Prizes

Arr pirates!! Ye may be rushing putting yer hard earned pearls into the Witch Hut training fer speed fer yer pirates, but here I am to tell ya that also the speed of training be very important because when you are attempting to raid Prizes only with Bonnies and Marauders (not to lose good troops) then ye be having a big problem of training them in hundreds and thousands, because they be dying off much faster than ye be training then.

Both Bonnies and Marauders take 3 minutes to train 1 at regular speed and each point of training is going to cut down the training by 1 second. Now that be not sounding that excellent but consider large numbers. 10,000 Bonnies would take 30,000 minutes to train (or 500 hours or 21 days), now if you cut down the training by say a few seconds, let's say 3 seconds less then the same amount of Bonnies would take 30,000 seconds less which is 500 minutes less or 8 hours less. Triple that and you win a whole day of training.

Cost Comparison Grenadier vs Bonnie's Beauties

Arrr pirates!! Here is another cost comparison analysis keeping our brains fresh and sharp for best spending yer hard earned gold coin, lumber and rum.

This time we have the cost comparison of yer Grenadier vs our darling Bonnie's Beauties. Below I be putting 2 pictures. On the top one we see them side by side and we see that the Grenadier is much more powerful as a single unit. He is almost as strong as 20 of our Bonnies. But then we look at the cost as wow, he is seriously more expensive than Bonnie's Beauties - actually by about 70%.

I be also counting that if ye would train 5,000 Bonnies then yer would have a defense power of roughly 95,000 points while for the same cost ye be able to train only 376 Grenadiers which give ye defense power of roughly 56,000 (taking average between their defense high and low figures), so this is a lot less.

But OK ye need only 752 rum for the Grenadiers while 5,000 fer the Bonnies so that's one big positive for the Mercenary man. Otherwise everything is in the favor of our darling Bonnie's Beauties.

I also want to highlight that the Grenadiers are especially good defending versus Mercenaries and Fleet, but ye never know what enemy be sending on you. Bonnies give a more balanced defense, but they be drinking a lot of rum.

Cost Comparison Skirmisher vs Bonnie's Beauties

Arrr pirates! Here we got a comparison of cost of the defensive skeleton-face Skirmishers and our dearest defensive Bonnie's Beauties.

Note also that Bonnie's Beauties are much faster in yer travel, so they have a strong advantage in that as well.

What I tried to do is to come up with a cost per offense or defense point to see which one is more efficient to buy and between these two it seems it is better to buy Bonnie's Beauties.

Note I assumed that Gold and Lumber have the same value, but I took Rum as half because it is rather easy to buy Rum at 2:1 ratio in the market.
